For me, Rhythm, Roots and Soul is an extension of "Talkin'Blues - the series". It is the next logical step to the series about the blues. It is a series about R&B, Soul, Gospel and Roots music. All of these musical genres are closely tied to the blues in one way or another, if not directly influenced by it.

Rhythm, Roots and Soul features various kinds of music - but most of all, it's about the musicians who make the music. Rhythm, Roots and Soul profiles these artists through their own words and music.

Rhythm, Roots and Soul documents these artists at a certain point in time in their careers. There are many things that tie together the musicians that I have chosen to feature in this series but the main thing that all of these musicians have in common is that they all inspired me with their music.
