Episode Thirteen - "Headed South"

Some may argue that the golden age of the blues have come and gone. That may be true but when I see someone like Ronnie Baker Brooks perform, I know that there's still a lot of great blues out there. Ronnie, who carries on the tradition of the blues of his father with him today is one of the most dynamic performers out there. The first segment in this episode is a profile of Ronnie Baker Brooks.

And let us not forget that the old guards are still going strong. The second segment is a video featuring Snooky Pryor with Mel Brown and the Homewreckers performing a great tune called "Headed South". This song is featured on Snooky Pryor's new live album entitled "Mojo Ramble" and it and this video was recorded in Cambridge, Ontario for a benefit concert.

The final segment of this episode features the words of Chris Smither. Chris shares his thoughts on an incident which made him realize that he, as a musician, is the messenger and not necessarily the message. I thought it was an interesting piece to end these next sets of shows. Chris is another very talented and articulate musician who works hard to carry on the tradition of the blues.

Well, that's it for the next seven shows. Once again, I thank you all for all your support for my project. If you have any comments, suggestions, complaints, ideas, etc...please send your thoughts to me. If you like the series or if you hate the series, please let Bravo know how you feel.
