Episode Seven - "Six String Therapy"

The Seventh show in the series will debut on BRAVO TV in the Fall of 2003. It is entitled "Six String Therapy" after the title track of the CD by Bryan Lee.

I first saw Brian Lee in 1983 in New Orleans. He may have been the first blues act I saw in a bar. I was going to check out the Neville Brother's but someone in the French Quarter told me that I should check out Bryan instead. I did and I've been a fan ever since. Almost twenty years later, I got the chance to meet him and I conducted my interview with him at Jeff Healey's club in Toronto. This first segment features Bryan's band with Jeff Healey as a special guest.

The second segment features a conversation I had with B.B. King before his show at the Hersey Centre in Mississauga. I asked him when he knew he had "made it" and this was his response. As I have said before, and as many, many others have stated, B.B. King is without a doubt, the most incredible man in the blues - not only because of his music but because of the person that he is. He is the King of the Blues for a very good reason and he is without a doubt, one of the nicest man I have ever met.

The final segment features a video by David Gogo. This video was shot at Jeff Healey's club as well. David was actually the second person I had ever interviewed for the talkin' blues project - and he was generous with his time from the very beginning. He's been a great supporter of my project and I feel very privileged to feature him and his song, "Skeleton Key" on this show.
